Ethiopia is the second country in the world to Adopt Christianity. The Orthodox Tewahdo Church faith has the majority followers, Muslim is the next with largest followers and some other religions and beliefs also practiced.

The religion and cultural diversity of Ethiopian People have naturally given rise to numerous colorful festivals, ceremonies and celebrations. Among the colorful Christian festivals tourists highly enjoy are Meskel (the finding of the true cross) on which Christ was crucified and Timket or Epiphany the commemoration of Christ’s baptism in the Jordan River.

Pilgrimages to holy places and great shrines are colorfully common in Ethiopia. The country is rich in diversity of culture. Each ethnic group have their own unique culture, tradition, language, and colorful custom.
