Yeha

A Pre-Christian “Temple of the moon” in the Northern part of Ethiopia particularly at Yeha, 30 Kms from Axum was the center of the Sabean civilization, the state before 5 century BC. Yeha was famous for the huge and remarkable walls of an oblong pagan temple built with stone blocks without the use of mortar. Even though it is roofless the imposing ruins of Yeha temple is still stand. The temple is currently believed the oldest temple in Ethiopia and major tourists visit site.
